1/4s is never fun with a 4-kg camera. Also, rum occurred.

So used to the doom & gloom up here, I forgot I didn’t want to use 400-speed film on a sunny day… (Leaf shutter maxes out at 1/400s, yaaay.) At least I have a location in mind with shade for the first roll.

This five-panel staggered panorama is made up of individual one-minute photographs overlooking the city of Seattle from a vantage point I walk through very often on my way to work. I was originally hoping to make a seamless panorama from these photographs, but with the focal length and the construction of the camera itself, it is too difficult to maintain a consistent focal-plane axis and therefore any stitch job would be distorted and ugly as hell.
So instead, I decided on separating the frames. I realize it makes each angle a little jarring, but seeing it this way has me contemplate using a paneled construction in the future to provide unique context throughout the lineup. Obviously the angles here are too subtle to allow uniqueness, but there is always the next iteration.
People of Seattle—
Bring me your faces, so I may photograph them. Shoot me a message via Tumblr, text me (2067538881) or E-mail me (steve@silveranddye.com), and we shall figure out something we can work on together.
Much love!
Collarbones. I can’t quit you.
Maybe I should just get a bunch of my gal friends together and make a series. Too hipster?
I had a dream I was processing a whole lot of photos, and all my scans were coming out too yellow-green. What a nightmare.
